Aldershot is known as the Home of the British Army, a connection which led to its rapid growth from a small village to a Victorian town. It boasts one of the best military museums outside of London - Aldershot Military Museum, with new kid-friendly interactive attractions such as a tank driving simulator. The town also hosts the annual Army Show - a great day out for the family, with everything from parachute displays to battle reenactments.
Aldershot barracks were also chosen as the base for Team GB's final preparations for the London 2012 Olympics.
